San Francisco landmark restoration spurs development

The restoration of the 1898 Ferry Building in San Francisco harbor will open a stretch of urban waterfront that was previously hidden behind an elevated highway. The $100 million rehabilitation plan for the building calls for 175,000 square feet of office space on two upper floors and 65,000 square feet of food-oriented retail space at street level.
