Climate change a hot topic in Washington

While Sen. Jim Jeffords, I-Vt., last week proposed a bill aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., the chairman of the House Committee on Government Reform, and Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., the top Democrat of the House committee, announced plans to ask the White House for data and hold hearings into whether the White House Council on Environmental Quality purposely played down scientific information on the threat of climate change.
