Ready-to-eat meal business grows

Meal preparation companies including Dinner by Design and Dream Dinners, which provide frozen, ready-to-cook prepared meals, are expected to generate $270 million in revenue by the end of this year and $1.1 billion by 2010, according to the Easy Meal Prep Association. More than 90% of Americans consume some form of ready-to-eat food every day, according to the NPD Group.
