Baxter reports good results for cell-tissue flu vaccine

Baxter International said a Phase I trial showed "strong antibody responses and good tolerability" for its reformulated seasonal flu vaccine made with cell tissues. The company is intent on building its vaccine business, including a vaccine against avian flu, and the cell-based process eliminates the need for chicken eggs and speeds the production process for vaccines.
