Air Transport Association urges Congress to tap oil reserves

The Air Transport Association asked Congress to begin releasing 10% of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to increase supply and immediately being easing fuel prices. The House of Representatives is expected to vote on the legislation today, which would release 70 million barrels of light, sweet crude oil. The oil would be sold on the open market, and money generated would be used to purchase heavy, sour crude oil.
