AOL's Widgnet ad network up and running

Time Warner unit AOL, using technology from acquisition Goowy Media Inc., has created the Widgnet ad network, through which marketers can place ads that accompany applications on social networks including Facebook and AOL's Beebo. The revenue from the ads is split between AOL and the application developer.
