Emerging economies in Asia face sustained inflation

Forecasts that the world may be seeing the backside of spiking food and fuel prices bring no relief in Asia, where developing economies are figuring out how to fight sustained-inflation pressures. While recession looms in the West, Asian economies are still growing. Many central banks in the region are keeping a loose monetary policy that spurs growth but leaves inflation unchecked.
