Sprint will pay debt through sale of towers

Sprint Nextel, awash in $24 billion in debt, said it would sell most of its cell phone towers to TowerCo, a private-equity-backed firm, for about $670 million. With few towers left in its own portfolio, the wireless carrier expects to lease the ones it sold back from TowerCo.
