Company clears Pennsylvania pond with patented technology

Dewatering Services has begun clearing several feet of silt from the North Park pond in Allegheny County, Pa. -- free of charge. The company hopes to win a maintenance contract for nearby North Park Lake by demonstrating its patented technology to clear gravel and soil with less damage to the environment and at a cost less than traditional dredging. The county and the Army Corps of Engineers has budgeted almost $8 million for restoration of the man-made lake.
