High insulin levels in older women raise breast cancer risk

Raised insulin levels put postmenopausal women at higher risk of developing breast cancer, according to new data from the Women's Health Initiative. Women who had insulin levels in the top third category were twice as likely to develop breast cancer as women in the bottom third. The link was stronger for thin women than for obese women, researchers said.
