Spokane, Wash., district restricts students' cell phone use

Students' cell phones in the Spokane, Wash., district must be turned off during instructional time unless permitted by an educator, according to a new policy that prohibits use except during lunch breaks. The policy was drafted in response to concerns that cell phone use was disrupting lessons.
