Teach For America responds to union criticism

Officials with Teach for America expressed their disappointment in a newsletter to program alumni over a recent resolution from the National Education Association opposing their efforts. TFA rejected claims that their educators are displacing other teachers, and are engaging in union busting or silencing. However, TFA vowed in the newsletter to "strive harder to build positive relationships and partner with our valued colleagues in the teaching profession so that we are all maximizing our impact together for the students and communities we serve."
