Fed's Raskin seeks fewer exemptions to Volcker rule

Sarah Bloom Raskin, a governor at the Federal Reserve, has called for a tougher version of the Volcker rule, saying that exemptions to the rule should be drawn more narrowly. The latest draft of the rule provides banks with exemptions for market making and hedging activities. Raskin wants to ensure that those exemptions would "not threaten the soundness of the bank or the stability of the financial system as a whole."
