Are women better corporate financial stewards?

A study published by the American Accounting Association says female CFOs produce more reliable financial statements and that women's presence on corporate boards greatly reduces the chance of financial restatements. However, another study by the association, to be released next month, shows that Norway, which requires listed companies to reserve 40% of board seats for women, has seen a decline in the quality of financial reporting since the rule was adopted.
