Ga. school board adopts new math textbooks for common core

The Cobb County Board of Education in Georgia recently voted to spend $3 million on new math instructional materials to support implementation of the Common Core State Standards. Some parents and others in the community have raised issues both for and against the new math curriculum and the adoption of supporting materials, but in the end, with just a couple of weeks to go before the start of the new school year, the school board voted to make the investment.
