How Martin Luther King Jr. inspired change in Ghana

A chance encounter with the burial site of Martin Luther King Jr. propelled Cliff Schmidt to address global poverty. He has since launched the nonprofit Literacy Bridge and developed the battery-powered Talking Book device to help teach health and agricultural topics to people in Ghana who have minimal literacy skills and no access to electricity. Users of the devices have become better-informed farmers and parents as a result of what they learned from the recorded messages, Schmidt said.
