How sequestration is affecting federal courts

Legal professionals recently informed lawmakers about the effects that sequestration has had on the federal court system. "If funding levels remain flat or decline, it compromises the constitutional mission of the courts," said Judge Julia Gibbons of the Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. Sequestration has chopped about $350 million from the budget for federal courts, she said.
