IBM executive: Social would benefit from real-time analytics

The value of Big Data analytics packages for C-level executives can be improved by adding in real-time analysis of social media conversations and trends involving competitors and customers alike, writes Sandy Carter, IBM's vice president of social business evangelism and sales. IBM calls this combination "Socialytics" and says its offerings can provide the "insight and intelligence" that CEOs and CIOs cite as among their top needs in the next five years, according to a survey.
