Mobile is poised to play a major role in back-to-school shopping

A third of online shoppers looking for back-to-school items say they'll be using their smartphones for that purpose this year, according to a Google survey. More than 9 in 10 of those surveyed said promotions would influence their buying, with college students planning an average of $614 in purchases and high-school students planning to spend $347 on average.
