News reports detail confessions, indicate China could expand probes

China is releasing details of its investigation into drugmaker's practices, and investigators say GlaxoSmithKline employees have admitted to bribery, the official state-run news agency Xinhua reported. Inquiries into drugmakers' practices could expand in the near future, according to Xinhua, which is said to reflect government thinking. Along with previous charges brought against GlaxoSmithKline, Chinese authorities have questioned employees of AstraZeneca and Belgian drugmaker UCB. Around 1,000 doctors, nurses and administrators at 73 hospitals in Zhangzhou have reportedly taken kickbacks.
