Pet dog exposes 5 people to rabies

A pet dog in Texas was euthanized and confirmed to have rabies after it bit several people, exposing five to the virus. Officials believe the dog contracted rabies from feral cats. All five people, including a child, are undergoing rabies prophylaxis. The most recent human case of rabies in the state occurred in a 17-year-old female patient in 2009.
