An inventory can help map out plans to restore storm-damaged landscapes, according to some landscape designers. "It will help you decide what approach to take. Ask yourself, 'Am I looking at this as a natural area, with native plants, or do I want a mixture that is designed and might have to be managed?'" said Larry Weaner, a landscape designer in Glenside, Pa. Weaner prefers to let the land recover naturally at first, and then use the new growth as a starting place for additional landscaping.
