PNC's sustainable skyscraper in Pittsburgh enters new construction phase

The "block-long foundation" of PNC Financial Services Group's new $400 million headquarters is complete. Workers are now erecting the steel frame of the 33-story skyscraper, which will use up to 9,000 tons of steel once it is finished. Billed as the "greenest skyrise in the world," the project should be finished in about two years, according to PNC spokeswoman Emily Krull.
