Research: U.K. food, drink sales to rise as royal birth is celebrated

The U.K. economy is expected to improve by almost $370 million, fueled by an increase in sales of food, drink and memorabilia as people celebrate the birth of the royal baby, according to the Center for Retail Research. "At the margin, the royal birth may provide the economy with a temporary, small positive boost at a time when it seems to be increasingly moving in the right direction," said Howard Archer, chief economist at IHS Global Insight.
