Survey: Feds sacrificing billions in savings by skipping cloud

Federal agencies are hemorrhaging billions of dollars each year in potential savings by failing to shift IT operations to the cloud, according to a survey of 159 agency IT professionals conducted by Meritalk. The poll found that fewer than half are seriously considering a cloud strategy. "While cloud is not appropriate for every agency in every instance, there's no question it can deliver compelling efficiencies for many if not most applications, and we’re seeing increased appetite from government customers for cloud conversion strategies," said AT&T's Chris Smith.
