Va. students study medieval-themed lessons in summer courses

Nearly 100 middle-school students in Virginia took part in Middle Ages-themed classes during a two-week, state-funded summer program for students who are gifted and talented. Students in the social studies class played a game on a map of Great Britain in which they go on crusades and encounter historical challenges. Students in technology classes made longbows and catapults, while art students made mosaics for stained-glass windows.
