Minyard competes with ethnic concepts

Minyard Food Stores is going after the growing Hispanic market in an effort to better compete with discount chains. Along with the conversion of some of its units to its Latino-focused Carnival format, the company is also developing its outreach to African-Americans, as well as Asian and Eastern European immigrants shopping at its 68 stores in Texas.
