Seattle's Hotel 1000 opens doors with proximity technology

Hotel 1000 in Seattle has become one of the first hotels in the nation to install new technology from Miwa Lock that has the capacity to read a key from within one inch of the lock in order to open the door. The lock, called "FeLica," Latin for "enjoy," uses what's known as proximity technology that is highly popular in Japan and is in use in more than 10,000 rooms overseas.
