Study: Breast cancer risk increases with some hormone meds

A study of more than 70,000 nurses found that the risk of breast cancer more than doubles among older women who take hormone pills that combine estrogen and testosterone. Previous research has found that other types of hormone supplements, such as estrogen-progestin pills, increase the risk of heart attacks and breast cancer, and research has found a greater cancer risk among women with naturally higher levels of testosterone.
