Videotron looks to boost capacity with "fiber deep"

Canadian cable firm Videotron has started rolling out a so-called "fiber deep" architecture that will increase the capacity it offers its 1.65 million subscribers in and around Quebec. The technology comes from Aurora Networks and allows Videotron to operate at about 125 homes per node as opposed to the current 500 to 1,000 homes per node.
