Medical groups call for osteoporosis screening in high-risk men

Despite the lack of research on men's risk for osteoporosis, the National Osteoporosis Foundation and the American College of Physicians have decided to recommend bone-density testing for men at high risk, including those over 65 or 70. The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases estimates that 6% of all men will experience a hip fracture after age 50 as a result of osteoporosis.
