Researcher ties gene cluster to colon cancer in families

Oklahoma scientist Courtney Gray Montgomery discovered a cluster of three genes that are linked to early onset colon cancer in families. Montgomery said it means predicting with 60% certainty that people who carry the gene cluster will get colon cancer, which could lead to earlier diagnoses and to more targeted treatments.
