EU calls for review of safe levels of omega-3s

The European Food Safety Authority took the food industry by surprise in announcing a scientific review of the maximum level of safe omega-3 doses. The review, at the request of the European Commission, comes after concerns were raised that people should take in no more than 1.5 grams per day of long-chain omega-3s. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends up to 3 grams per day.
