Senate and House leaders dig in for a debt-limit fight

Congressional leaders are moving away from compromise and hardening their positions on the debt ceiling as the Aug. 2 deadline to avoid a default nears. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, offered competing plans. President Barack Obama backed Reid's plan.
