Tax increase, savings allow district to continue technology initiative

An Illinois school district was able to purchase 90 new iPads for students after the replacement of some desktop computers cost less than budgeted. Planned program cuts and teacher layoffs in the district also were recently averted with a voter-approved tax increase, which is allowing the district to continue implementing its "21st Century Teaching and Learning" initiative to integrate new technology into classroom lessons.
