AGC's Simonson: Construction industry may do better in rest of the year

Warehouse, oil-and-gas and residential construction are all showing signs of growth, according to AGC's chief economist Ken Simonson. He thinks this could mean slow, but steady improvement for the construction sector although "the recovery is by no means a clean sweep of improving conditions, and I expect that to be the story for the rest of the year and maybe into 2014." CEO Stephen Sandherr contends that "one misguided regulation and one missed investment opportunity could cost a lot of hard-working construction workers their jobs."
