City Council approves tennis stadium plan for home of U.S. Open

Plans for expansion of the home of the U.S. Open tennis tournament can go forward following New York City Council's approval of the use of parkland for the project. The U.S. Tennis Association agreed to return to the city more land than it is taking, increase its community outreach efforts and commit $10 million for park maintenance and programming.
