Curiosity breaks its own Mars distance record

Curiosity trundled along 329 feet of the Mars surface Sunday, its longest distance yet as it begins its journey to the base of Mount Sharp. The Mars team was able to direct the rover that distance because it had a good view of the terrain from a camera mounted on top of the rover, allowing scientists to direct Curiosity around rocks.
