FAA to require inspection of emergency beacons aboard 787s

The Federal Aviation Administration will require United Airlines to inspect the emergency locator transmitters (ELT) aboard its fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. "Discrepancies within the ELT, if not corrected, could cause a fire in the aft crown of the airplane," the FAA said in an order.
