FDA Safety Over Sequestration bill would unlock user fees

The FDA Safety Over Sequestration bill, a bipartisan attempt to exempt FDA user fees from sequestration, would further patient health and medical innovation by allowing the agency to spend money it collects from industry in the next fiscal year, its authors say. The sequestration of prescription drug user fees "does not decrease the nation's deficit, but only serves to exacerbate the severe budgetary constraints of a historically underfunded agency," PhRMA Vice President Sascha Haverfield said.
