Fed's balance sheet continues upward trend

For the eighth straight week, the Federal Reserve's balance sheet increased, ending the week of July 24 with liabilities of $3.532 trillion, up from $3.495 trillion the week before. The Fed's holdings in Treasurys and Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Government National Mortgage Association guaranteed mortgage bonds increased during the time period.
