Future of U.S. tax reform is uncertain

Despite a Friday deadline for lawmakers to propose which tax breaks should remain before a proposal for revamping the tax code is developed, some senators remain skeptical that a tax-reform bill will be taken up at all. While Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., wants a bill considered in the fall, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, is less optimistic. "I think there's a desire to do that," Hatch said. "I don't know that that's going to happen, though."
