Jobless rate is higher among female recent vets

The unemployment rate among Iraq and Afghanistan veterans decreased in June to 7.2%, compared with 9.5% a year ago and 7.5% for the overall population, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, advocates note that the jobless rate among female veterans is still much higher than among men. "Female veterans are up against the wall, and it's time to break down the wall and get them the jobs they need," said Iraq War veteran Mike Liguori.
