Mich. relies on word of mouth to promote ACA

Michigan will spend about 58 cents per person to educate residents about health insurance options under the Affordable Care Act. The federal government is providing about $3.8 million for outreach to some 30 community health clinics in Michigan and will award another $1.9 million next month for navigators to guide people through the process of enrolling for insurance through the state's federally run marketplace. Volunteers with Enroll America are going door-to-door and calling the state's uninsured residents to inform them about the law.
