Palm oil isn't a panacea for U.S. snack-makers, experts say

U.S. snack-food manufacturers have decreased trans fats in cookies, crackers and popcorn, but the replacement, palm oil, isn't much better for Americans' waistlines, experts say. Palm oil contains high levels of saturated fat, and there are environmental concerns regarding palm oil production.
