A Castlight Health report that analyzed joint replacement procedures found no statistical relationship between health care charges and the quality of the hospital. Data from hospitals in Boston and Washington, D.C., showed the most-expensive, high-quality hospital charged less for a knee replacement than the most-expensive hospitals with lower quality scores.
