Senate subcommittee approves funding for additional SEC examiners

The Senate Appropriations Committee's Financial Services Subcommittee on Tuesday approved the administration's request for funding of 250 additional financial adviser examiner positions for the Securities and Exchange Commission. The additional funds had previously met resistance in the House, where the Appropriations Committee last week approved an amount nearly identical to what the SEC received last fiscal year.
