South Korean growth picks up in 2nd quarter

South Korea's economy grew at a surprisingly healthy 4.5% annual rate in the second quarter, picking up its pace from the first quarter. "Facilities investment declined, but private consumption swung to growth. Government spending also increased," the Bank of Korea said.
