Taiwan institute sharply lowers 2013 growth forecast

Citing weak growth in private consumption, the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research scaled back its 2013 growth estimate to 2.52% from the 3.71% outlook issued in April. Exports are expected to end the year with a 3.93% gain from 2012, while imports are expected to rise 1.74%.
