Texas city manager aims to restore jobs cut in recession

Plano, Texas, City Manager Bruce Glasscock has proposed $21 million in additional spending for the 2013-2014 fiscal year, as tax revenue returns to a pre-recession level. The spending would go to police and fire services, as well as construction projects. Nearly two dozen jobs would be added, primarily public-safety jobs that were eliminated during the recession, Glasscock says.
